it’s been a while ! I’ve been really lacking in my consistency in updating. I need to get back into the routine of it.
I wanted to talk about all the recent movies I watched the last few weeks my favorites and not so much. Most I like to go to the theater but I will also watch at home if they are old or non-theatrical releases.
Caution there might some movie spoilers
Starting off I mentioned in my last post that I was going to watch Exit8, it’s based off a video game where you need to find any and every anomaly in order to go to the next level or in this case the next Exit all the way to Exit 8 in order to win. The movie was the same with some extra emotional elements added to make the movie interesting. A very straightforward movie.
I watched The Godfather for the first time and it was very entertaining. I had absolutely no prior knowledge about what the movie was besides it’s about a fictional mob family and that Al Pachino was in it. I was SO CONFUSED when Michael Corleone showed up and he wasn’t a part of the family business but a soldier. Watching everything spiral throughout the movie was a great watch.
Pizza Movie… yeah it was something
Ford v Ferrari was a great watch. I know it was based on true stories and people but you can’t help but be sad when Christan Bales character dies in a car crash.
The Devil Wears Prada 2… it was a good sequel. But I wouldn’t rewatch like the first one.
The Sheep Detectives! What an amazing story! It was a comedy, whodunnit, and reminded me of Shaun the Sheep because of the sheep haha. It also made me tear up a bit. I loved it and I love Nicholas Braun.
I saved the best for last..
Michael!!! I watched that movie THREE times while the timeline is little wonky in the middle from when he sings I’ll Be There and when he watches to write his solo album. And a lot is missing for various reasons that has been spoken about. It really is an amazing movie filled with iconic songs. It really woke up the 9-year-old Michael Jackson fangirl in me.
My personal favorite MJ songs are Remember the Time, Human Nature and Stranger in Moscow.
Lastly, I watched The Wiz just two days ago. I remember watching it years ago and I was very confused by it because thought it was very familiar to The Wizard of Oz. Now with the information that I have it about it being a reimagining of the film and The Wiz even originally being a Broadway production. Watching it now made me enjoy it more especially the songs. Ease on Down The Road and You Can’t Win is so good, Quincy Jones did a number on the soundtrack ✨✨
I already have a few more movies planned to watch the next few weeks. Very exciting !
